J P’s Gusto, under new trainer Joe Petalino, breezed six furlongs in 1:15.60 this morning at Oaklawn. Elite Alex, who also looks to run in next Monday’s Southwest Stakes, breezed seven furlongs in 1:27 with Calvin Borel aboard.
