Hawthorne sees 13% drop in handle

Bad weather and a lack of horses contributed to a significant decrease in handle during the 41-day winter-spring meet at Hawthorne Race Course.  Ontrack betting on live Hawthorne races fell 17 percent from the 2010 winter-spring meet, while all-sources wagering on Hawthorne was down 13 percent.
