A pair of Kentucky Derby hopefuls will be piloted by new jockeys in their next starts, reports drf.com.

Improbable, most recently a narrow second in the G2 Rebel under Drayden Van Dyke, will now be ridden by Jose Ortiz. The Bob Baffert trainee is expected to make his next start in the G1 Arkansas Derby on April 13.

Van Dyke will ride Richard Mandella trainee Extra Hope in the G1 Santa Anita Derby on April 6, according to owner/breeder Samantha Siegel's Twitter account.

Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer is tentatively planning to send Instagrand out for the G1 Santa Anita Derby on April 6, and said that he will be ridden by Flavien Prat if that plan comes to fruition. In his most recent outing, a third-place finish in the G3 Gotham, Instagrand was ridden by Javier Castellano.

Castellano is booked to ride Vekoma in the April 6 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland.
