Crowned racing's 13th winner of the Triple Crown, the undefeated Justify returned to Churchill Downs's Barn 33 on Monday afternoon. The chestnut son of Scat Daddy was greeted by his usual throng of media attention, but remained unfazed in the hands of trainer Bob Baffert's top assistant Jimmy Barnes.
According to drf.com, Justify could follow in the footsteps of American Pharoah and be paraded in the paddock on Saturday's Stephen Foster card beneath the Twin Spires. Racing officials have not yet received confirmation from Baffert, but they remain hopeful that the colt could be paraded in conjunction with the presentation of the Kentucky Derby trophy to his connections.
The Stephen Foster is the featured race on Churchill's final “Downs After Dark” card of the 2018 spring meet, and has drawn a probable field of eight older horses, including Alysheba winner Backyard Heaven.
