A pair of Arkansas Derby probables worked this at Santa Anita Park, each firing the fastest time at the distance.

Omaha Beach, winner of the G2 Rebel in his most recent outing, breezed a half-mile on Friday, covering the distance in :47.80 under retired jockey Alex Solis.

“I didn't realize it was a bullet,” trainer Richard Mandella told bloodhorse.com. “He went great.”

Improbable donned blinkers in his Saturday morning workout for trainer Bob Baffert. Ridden by Martin Garcia, the 3-year-old son of City Zip covered six furlongs in company in 1:12.80.

Of the blinkers, Baffert told drf.com: “Wanted to try a different deal. Trying to figure out his style.”
