Twice since 2007, Jess Jackson wound up in the Preakness winner's circle, first with Curlin, then with Rachel Alexandra. Saturday, his presence will still be felt by the connections of Astrology, a homebred colt by Jackson, representing Stonestreet Stables. Astrology's co-owner George Bolton tells the Lexington Herald-Leader that Jackson, who died last month at age 81, will be on everyone's mind in Baltimore:
“I think it's going to be fun, and … Jess would want us to go back there and have a great time,” Bolton said. “He would want us to have good energy and be competitive on Saturday, and I think that's the goal. If this thing came through, it would be hard for any of us to get through the trophy presentation, but it'd be a nice problem to have.”
