Wise Dan flies past rivals to take the 2014 Shadwell Turf Mile.

Two-time Horse of the Year Wise Dan has returned to the track at Keeneland following recovery from a non-displaced fracture of the cannon bone. The Charlie LoPresti trainee jogged Tuesday morning under regular exercise rider Damien Rock.

LoPresti told The Blood-Horse that the gelding will jog every other day for 30 days before being rechecked by Dr. Larry Bramlage of Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky. The horse's injury was announced last October, and LoPresti reported that Bramlage is “happy with his progress.”

Wise Dan will continue his jogs with a pony and if he is still healing well after 30 days, may resume galloping. This year's Breeders' Cup Mile is still possible, according to LoPresti, provided the horse is able to race early this fall.
