Odds-on favorite Turbulent Descent crushed her five rivals in the Grade 2, $150,000 Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland Sunday.
Under David Flores, Turbulent Descent swept by the leaders in upper stretch and scooted away for a five-length victory in 1:26.12 for about seven furlongs. Honey Chile finished second, a half-length in front of Coax Liberty.
Turbulent Descent won for the fifth time in six starts for trainer Mike Puype. Puype said he would forgo the Kentucky Oaks and instead focus on shorter Grade 1 races in New York over the summer.
