Treve wins her first Arc de Triomphe

Although she has been out of action since finishing third in the Prince of Wales's Stakes (Eng-I) at Royal Ascot, 2013 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I) heroine Treve continues to train well and remains on course to defend her title in the 2014 edition of the race.

Sporting Life reports that the 4-year-old daughter of Motivator, who came out of the Royal Ascot race with pulled muscles, is now fulling healthy and working strongly at trainer Criquette Head-Maarek's yard in France. The trainer indicated that the talented filly would likely make her next start on Sept. 14, either in the Prix Vermeille (Fr-I) or Prix Foy (Fr-II).

“She seems fine, she's happy in herself and it looks like all the problems are gone, so we keep our fingers crossed,” Head-Maarek said Tuesday.

“She is en route to either the Prix Vermeille or the Prix Foy (both September 14), but I think the Vermeille is more likely.”
