Godolphin's Thunder Snow was scratched from the G1 Whitney Stakes on Saturday morning after developing a fever, but trainer Saeed bin Suroor told drf.com that the colt will be remaining in New York for the Aug. 31 Woodward Stakes at Saratoga.
“He recovered good, no problem, he will run at the of the month,” Suroor said. “The horse is super fit. He'll be ready.”
Two-time Dubai World Cup winner and third in last year's Breeders' Cup Classic, the 5-year-old son of Helmet is being aimed at a repeat try in this fall's edition at Santa Anita Park. He returned to the track for a jog on Monday morning.
