Stradivari, the 3-year-old Medaglia d'Oro colt that was injured during a workout July 22, is scheduled to have surgery Tuesday to repair his right front ankle.

The Daily Racing Form reported that the surgery will take place at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga.

The Todd Pletcher trainee suffered a lateral condylar fracture and an axial fracture of a sesamoid in his right foreleg as he was galloping out after a work on Friday.

“Everything appears favorable,” Pletcher told the DRF. “Knock wood, everything has gone as well we could hope.”
