Australian supermare Winx made it look easy in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes, crossing the wire 3 1/2 lengths the best to mark her 32nd straight win and a world record 24 Group 1 wins.
“She did what she does best and put them all to the sword,” co-owner Peter Tighe told cnn.com. “There's not a lot more you can say — she's just out of this world.”
The Street Cry mare is expected to make one more start in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes before she will be retired. No decision has been made on a potential breeding shed match.
Trained by Chris Waller and ridden by Hugh Bowman, Winx has not been defeated since April of 2015. She is the first horse in Australian racing history to win four Cox Plates, four Chipping Norton Stakes, and four George Ryder Stakes.
