Never Retreat pulled away in deep stretch to win the Grade 2, $200,000 Jenny Wiley Stakes on the Keeneland turf Saturday.
Under Shaun Bridgmohan, Never Retreat broke from the pack in mid-stretch and sprinted to the wire for a two-length victory in 1:44.72 for 1 1/16 miles on the yielding turf. Fantasia finished second. Race favorite Zagora took third.
Never Retreat is owned by Team Block and was bred in Kentucky by Gerry O'Meara and Stanley Inman. Trained by Chris Block, she's a six-year-old daughter of Smart Strike out of the Steady Growth mare, Lisieux.
Never Retreat was coming off a win in the Honeyfox Stakes at Gulfstream Park March 5th. She's now 8 for 25 lifetime.
