Of the three-year-olds that ran in all three legs of this year's Triple Crown, we know the likely path for two of them. Derby winner Animal Kingdom is recovering from an injury and won't race again until next year. Preakness champion Shackleford is set to go in both the Haskell and the Travers.
The third horse is Mucho Macho Man, who is stabled at Saratoga but without a future race penciled in yet. Trainer Kathy Ritvo said the colt could show up for the Travers, but she's not ready to commit to anything.
“When he's ready to come back, he will,'' Ritvo tells the Albany Times-Union. “We just gave him some time off because he needed a break. He put in three tough races.''
