Multiple graded stakes winner Dortmund posted his first workout for his new trainer Art Sherman Tuesday at Los Alamitos.

According to a report in the BloodHorse, Dortmund worked three furlongs in :36 3/5's.

“I thought he went really well,” Sherman said afterwards. “He looked really good, well in hand. He was just breezing; I'm happy with him. We'll go over him really well tomorrow morning and see how he comes out of it. He's a runner, there's no doubt about it.”

Two-time G1 winner Dortmund was last seen finishing fourth in the G1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile. Dortmund's owner, Kaleem Shah, recently removed all of his horses from trainer Bob Baffert, dividing them between a few different trainers, including Sherman. As of now, a return race hasn't been selected for Dortmund.

“It might take me a couple months, but I'm just going to play it by ear,” Sherman said. “Now that I've got him the way I think he should be going, I'm under no pressure. Kaleem just said to take my time, he just wants to keep him going.”
