Multiple Group 1 winner Solow has been ruled out of the defense of his G1 Dubai Turf title after failing to recover sufficiently from an injury sustained during a gallop in Chantilly on Wednesday.
The Racing Post reports that trainer Freddy Head feels that even though the injury is minor, with the gelding due to ship to Dubai Friday, he didn't want to risk further damage.
“The leg isn't as good this morning and he is not as we would want him to be,” Head said in an interview. “We won't take the risk as we are short of time with the flight leaving tomorrow.”
“He will have some tests done, but at the moment it doesn't seem anything serious, just a hematoma.”
