Horse Of The Year Wise Dan Cleared To Gallop

Two-time Horse of the Year Wise Dan, who has been sidelined since late last fall with a non-displaced fracture at the bottom of his right front cannon bone, received clearance earlier this week to begin galloping every other day.

According to reports by both Horse Racing Nation and the Louisville Courier-Journal, trainer Charlie LoPresti indicated that the 8-year-old gelding would again be x-rayed in 30 days.

“We feel pretty certain that after that, we can go right into full training,” LoPresti said, adding the chestnut horse “doesn't look like a horse who's been out of training, does he?”
