Having exited an allowance victory on the Kentucky Derby undercard in good order, McCraken is now being pointed for the Grade 1 Metropolitan Mile on June 9 at Belmont Park, reports to drf.com. The 4-year-old son of Ghostzapper was making his first start in six months, most recently finishing third in last fall's Fayette Stakes.
“He's a happy horse right now,” said trainer Ian Wilkes. “He's back to training and doing very well.”
Long-term, Wilkes is hopeful to prep McCraken for a bid in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile at Churchill in November.
