Greyhound racing in steep decline across the country

Want to feel good about the state of horse racing in the U.S.? Repeat after me, “at least we aren't in the greyhound racing industry”. Whether it is because of protests from animal rights groups or just the lack of interest in a gambling opportunity seemingly so random in its outcome, there is no doubt that greyhound racing is in serious decline. Nationally, money bet on greyhound races has dropped from $3.5 billion to $1.1 billion between 1991 and 2007.
