Godolphin continued a strong 2018 racing season with a victory by Best Solution in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup on Saturday. According to theirishfield.ie, the 4-year-old son of Kodiac led all the way and prevailed by a head over Homesman to earn a third G1 win in a row. He will make his next start in the Melbourne Cup.
“It was Sheikh Mohammed's decision to send him to Australia after he won two Group 1s in Germany and it is a brilliant result for him,” said trainer Saeed bin Suroor. “The horse is doing good and the Melbourne Cup is a big race, it's another dream for us, but we will try.”
“It was a good day today, he toughed it out well,” said jockey Pat Cosgrave. “There's another half-mile to go (in the Melbourne Cup), but we'll enjoy today first, come back to Melbourne and see how we go.”
