Olivier Peslier, who has been the contract rider for the Wertheimer brothers for the past 12 years, will not renew his contract in 2015.
The Racing Post reports that the split between Peslier and the Wertheimers was amicable. The owner-jockey team has had great success over the years, most notably with three-time Breeders' Cup Mile winner, Goldikova. Peslier partnered Goldikova in all 27 of her starts, riding her to victory in 14 Group 1 races.
The Wertheimers' racing manager Pierre-Yves Bureau said of the decision, “It was a decision taken by mutual consent. We have worked together for 12 years and enjoyed some wonderful moments, with Goldikova obviously, but also with Solemia's Arc and Intello winning the Jockey Club. We are parting on very good terms.”
