Vanned back to her home base of Payson Park training center, Phipps Stables' Fly So High appeared sound when jogging on the road Sunday morning. The 3-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon had to be vanned off the track after winning Saturday's Grade 2 Davona Dale Stakes; jockey Jose Ortiz jumped off as a precaution when the filly felt a little bit off, according to bloodhorse.com.
Trainer Shug McGaughey reported on Saturday evening that Fly So High appeared to have exited the race okay, and the news of her jogging sound on Sunday morning was encouraging. McGaughey has ordered an ultrasound to be completed, and future plans for the filly are on hold until its results are released.
“It was an impressive win,” said Daisy Phipps Pulito. “She so big … she's just growing into herself. If we have to give her some time off, we will. We're not in any rush. Shug ordered the ultrasound just to make sure we're not missing anything.”
