Delta Downs is preparing for another rich race program on Saturday as the track hosts the 13th annual Louisiana Premier Night. The 11-race program will feature 10 stakes events for Louisiana-bred horses worth more than $1,000,000 in total purse money. First post time is scheduled for 5:40 pm Central Time.

Saturday's featured race will be the $200,000 Louisiana Premier Night Championship for older horses competing at 1 1/16 miles, which will be the 10th race on the program. This year's Championship has attracted a field of eight including last year's winner, One King's Man. The Joe Sharp trainee will try to turn the tables on The Pickett Factor, who defeated him in the Gold Cup at Delta Downs in November as well as the Louisiana Classic at the Fair Grounds one month later on Champions Day.

The highest earner on the Louisiana Premier Night program is Rowell Enterprises, Inc.'s Heitai, who has banked $1,014,893 during his 34-race career. Heitai will attempt to win his third consecutive $100,000 Louisiana Premier Night Sprint for his third different trainer. Heitai will be making his first start for new conditioner Eduardo Ramirez this weekend after being saddled by Tom Amoss before last year's race. In 2014 he was sent out by Karl Broberg.

This year's $125,000 Louisiana Premier Night Starlet will feature the upset winner of this year's $400,000 Delta Downs Princess (Gr. III), Jet Black Magic. The Bret Calhoun trainee defeated the heavily favored La Appassionata on Jackpot Day before finishing third in the Silverbulletday at Fair Grounds on January 16.
