Paco Lopez guides Miss Sky Warrior to her fourth straight win in the Davona Dale

Under a confident ride by Paco Lopez, Arlene's Sun Star Stable's Miss Sky Warrior rolled to her fourth consecutive win at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, taking the Grade 2 Davona Dale Stakes by a half-length. Jordan's Henny finished second, a neck ahead of fast-closing Summer Luck, with Modacious fourth and Brahms Cat fifth in the field of 14 3-year-old fillies.

The winner, bred in Kentucky by Arlene London, is by First Samurai out of Sky Minister, by Conquistador Cielo, and is trained by Kelly Breen. She covered one mile on a fast dirt track in 1:38.49 after fractions of :23.65, :46.60, 1:11.66 and 1:24.50.

Miss Sky Warrior had not raced since a wire-to-wire win Nov. 26 in the G2 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct. Prior to that, she was forwardly placed when taking the G3 Tempted at Aqueduct Nov. 5. The bay filly broke her maiden in her second start, a six-furlong sprint at Parx Racing Oct. 15.

In the Davona Dale, Lopez allowed Miss Sky Warrior to settle just off the pace, with Modacious grabbing the early advantage, and then joined by Jordan's Henny to her inside. Approaching the far turn, Lopez swung Miss Sky Warrior three wide and she took command with the rider looking behind for any competition. He used the stick once inside the final sixteenth when Summer Luck began to rally on the outside, but the victory by then was assured.

Saratoga Citizen appeared to suffer an injury to the foreleg in the opening quarter mile and fell. She was banned off. A trailing horse, Aspen Hilltop, stumbled over Saratoga Citizen and was eased.
