Trainer Kenny McPeek traveled overseas to oversee the preparation of his Group 1 Investec Oaks contender Daddys Lil Darling, who was most recently a hard-closing second in the Kentucky Oaks. According to racingpost.com, jockey Olivier Peslier flew in to gallop the 3-year-old daughter of Scat Daddy over the Epsom course on Friday; he is tabbed to ride the filly for the first time in the June 2 Oaks.

“Olivier said she looked around a bit and was paying attention to the marks in the road, but other than that she did fine,” said McPeek. “I was a little worried the travel would knock her back but it hasn't. She's fresh and happy and everything is well.”

Owned and bred by Normandy Farm, Daddys Lil Darling is currently listed at 33-1 via William Hill. Though her lone start on the grass resulted in a sixth-place finish, McPeek attributed that to the fact that it was her first start of 2017. The Investec Oaks distance of 1 1/2 miles will play to the strengths of the late-running filly, though the turf remains a question.
