The brilliant racemare Treve is set to kick off her 2015 campaign Friday when she takes on eight challengers in the Group 2 Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud.
The 5-year-old daughter of Motivator, who was set to be retired last season after capturing her second consecutive Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, was kept in training with the goal of accomplishing an Arc 'hat trick' this year.
Harry Hebert, racing manager for Al Shaqab Racing, told the Sporting Life that Treve would likely have a four-race campaign this year. After the Prix Corrida, she would run in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and Group 1 Prix Vermeille before one last start in the Arc.
“Treve is in fantastic form,” Herbert told Sporting Life. “I saw her last week and she looked absolutely terrific.”
“She's fuller than she was last year and is moving beautifully, seeming to have retained all her old zest.”
“She's a remarkable racehorse and it's just so exciting for everybody to see her back on the track.”
