Ben’s Cat defends crown in Turf Monster Handicap

Ben's Cat got up in the shadow of the wire to win the Turf Monster Handicap (gr. IIIT) by a short head over Chamberlain Bridge at Parx Racing Sept. 3.

The victory earned Ben's Cat an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (gr. IT) at Santa Anita, since it is part of the 'Win and You're In' series sponsored by the Breeders' Cup. However, the King Leatherbury-trained gelding, who won this race last year, is not Breeders' Cup nominated.

It was just another head back to Great Mills in third in a blanket finish. Final time for the five furlongs was 1:00.3 over the very soft turf course.
