Dual Grade 1 winner Bellafina has proved to trainer Simon Callaghan that she is on track for the G2 Santa Ynez Stakes on Jan. 6, according to bloodhorse.com, cruising through a bullet workout on Monday at Santa Anita Park. The 2-year-old daughter of Quality Road covered a half-mile in :47 flat, best of 87 at that distance.

“She did it really easily. We weren't necessarily looking to go quite as quick as she did, but she did it super easily and was just feeling good,” Callaghan said. “It definitely was a very good work.”

Following a somewhat disappointing fourth-place effort in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, Bellafina had a few weeks of easy training before returning to the work tab on Nov. 24. Monday's breeze was her third since the Breeders' Cup.
