Beholder had onlookers backing away when she reared and kicked in the walking area of Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella's enclosed barn Saturday morning.

“She gets a little wound up after she works,” Mandella said with a smile. “You can tell she's feeling good.”

Beholder went three furlongs in :36.00 under exercise rider Janine Painter in her first work since the romping victory in the $1 million TVG Pacific Classic.
