According to a story in The Blood-Horse, the investigation by New York and Kentucky regulators into trainer Steve Asmussen could take “at least several months.” The investigation was spurred by an undercover video report published by PETA.

Kentucky Horse Racing Commission executive director John Ward told writer Frank Angst that state officials have requested all the video compiled by PETA but have only been able to obtain a few minutes of the footage shot in Kentucky.

Asmussen attorney Clark Brewster also said that the group has been uncooperative in releasing all its video, which he has pursued under Freedom of Information Act requests.
