Trainer Patty Burns, ejected once in 2008 from Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, has been ejected from the same track a second time and is appealing the action.
Burns successfully appealed the 2008 ejection (given for her part in an altercation on the backstretch and the later discovery of syringes in her barn). The latest action by the track is unrelated to the first violation, according to a report in The Blood-Horse.
This time, Burns is in hot water for giving the wrong owner and trainer names to Laurel Park stewards for runner Parker's Love on two occasions, “in order to hide or mislead racing officials.” Maryland officials said the trainer admitted her guilt and paid the fine; Charles Town sent her official notice that she was not welcome at the track due to the Maryland violation, despite her original ejection being overturned.
