The curtain came down on another successful racing season in Hong Kong over the weekend. During the final day on Saturday, jockey Joao Moreira won four races to cap his banner year with 145 victories, while John Moore earned the trainer's title.
The South China Morning Post reports that wagering was up 5.8 per cent to HK$107.9 billion, and attendance was the largest in 12 years – up 2.6 per cent to 2.07 million.
