Churchill Downs is close to selling out seats in The Mansion, the new high-end premium venue at the racetrack, according to a report in Business First.
Close to half the seats were purchased by Louisville businessman Ulysses 'Junior' Bridgeman according to the article. The former University of Louisville and NBA player purchased 150 of the 322 seats. The value of the sale was in the area of $1.5 million.
Bridgeman owns and operates Bridgeman Foods LLC, which owns about 300 Wendy's and Chili's restaurant franchises in the U.S.
The Mansion has 32 tables, which have either four, eight or 16 seats. They are priced at $9,000 to $12,000 annually, and are tied to multiyear commitments.
