Santa Anita Park has announced that the Grade III, $150,000 Providencia Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/8 miles on turf, originally scheduled to be run on April 7, will instead be run a day earlier, on Santa Anita Derby Day, Saturday, April 6.
In addition to the Providencia and Grade I, $750,000 Santa Anita Derby, Santa Anita will also present the Grade I Santa Anita Oaks and the Grade II Potrero Grande Stakes on April 6—for a total of four graded stakes on what promises to be a world-class day of racing.
Santa Anita will replace the Providencia with an overnight stakes, to be run on April 7.
