New York Racing Association officials are considering installing a synthetic surface at Aqueduct.
The Blood-Horse reports that NYRA president Chris Kay told the Financial Oversight Board that costs are still being negotiated regarding the installation. The new track is expected to cost between $9 million and $12 million.
“We believe having a synthetic track at Aqueduct would be very helpful in bringing horses from other locales,” Kay said.
