The Daily Racing Form reports Golden Gate Fields has received conditional approval from the California Horse Racing Board to run a meet from late August to early October.
The approval is contingent upon an agreement related to track workers' wages between Golden Gate and the California Authority of Racing Fairs. A meeting is scheduled next week to discuss the labor contract. The debate surrounding labor costs has been ongoing, and officials say it will need to be reevaluated again ahead of the fall meet.
The CHRB maintains it has no authority over the labor dispute, and the warned the two groups they must resolve the argument on their own.
