Genting New York, which operates the Resorts World Casino at Aqueduct, plans to break ground later this year on an expansion project that will add space for additional entertainment, retail, and gambling areas.
According to a report in the Blood-Horse, the plan would add more than 750,000-square feet to the facility. The $400-million project was announced at Monday's meeting of the NYRA Franchise Oversight Board. Final approval of the project is needed by the state.
Ryan Eller, president of Resorts World Casino New York, told the board the project is the first phase of a plan to turn the Aqueduct site into a “fully integrated resort.”
Eller told the board that the plan has not yet been presented to NYRA, but he is looking forward to getting their input on the proposed project.
