National HBPA: Horse Racing Is Clearly Failing in Its Marketing Efforts

A recent Harris Poll took the pulse of America regarding their favorite sport. Not surprisingly, football finished first with baseball a mediocre second. However, horse racing didn't crack the top ten, tied for 14th with swimming, women's tennis and boxing with 1% of the vote.

The Horsemen's Daily, touted as the official publication of the National HBPA, takes those in charge of marketing the sport to task. “If this Harris poll is any indicator, horse racing is clearly failing in its marketing efforts. And we have been failing for some time. Not only are we not gaining ground on competing sports, but we continue to lose ground to many of them.”
