Gulfstream Park announced today it will play host to the South Florida Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SFSPCA) Horse Rescue annual fundraiser Sunday, December 14.
More than 400 guests are expected to attend the SFSPCA's A Day at the Races, which will include a private, lavish buffet in Gulfstream's signature restaurant Ten Palms as well as prizes and silent auction items.
A Day at the Races will be emceed by WSVN-7 reporter Kevin Ozebek.
Philanthropist, international equestrian and Chesapeake Petroleum board chair Victoria McCullough will be honored at the event with the South Florida SPCA Horse Rescue Award for Excellence in Equine Protection for her efforts to protect U.S. equines. Florida Congressman Mario Diaz Balart and Miami Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle will also be recognized by the SFSPCA for their support of equine welfare issues.
The SFSPCA's A Day at the Races begins with check-in at 11:30 a.m., and a first race post time at 12:35 p.m. Tickets, which include an unlimited buffet, racing program, $2 betting voucher and air-conditioned trackside seating, are available for $65 per person or $600 for a reserved table for 8.
