Racing NSW officials have suspended trainer Garry McCarney for 15 months after two of his horses tested positive for cobalt.
Racing.com reports that McCarney pleaded guilty to two charges after Southern Flight and Head to Toe both tested positive after racing Nov. 12 at Narromine Race Course. Both mares won that day, and have since been disqualified.
Stewards originally ruled that McCarney should receive a 12-month suspension for each charge, but then agreed that he could serve a 15-month ban.
