CASNER ON WINSTAR: This Has Been One of the Most Gratifying Experiences Any of Us Have Ever Had

Alicia Wincze of the Lexington Herald-Leader caught up with Bill Casner a day after the surprise announcement that he would step down from WinStar Farm ownership. There has been much talk about the “real reason” behind this split but Casner insists this was nothing more than a legacy decision and that the friendship between him and Kenny Troutt is as strong as ever.

“Kenny's goal is perhaps to have WinStar as a legacy for his children where his children can carry on the business,” Casner said. “Susan and I have one daughter and she's not involved in the business at all. She would have no interest in it. It's just something I think makes sense for both of us.”
