The Eclipse Awards ceremony, honoring the best in racing – both equine and human – was held Saturday evening. The dinner and ceremony concluded a week-long series of functions that included several charity events and fundraisers.
The events and the excitement that surrounded the Eclipse Awards left an impression on Greg Wood, a journalist for The Guardian, who would like to see the British and European champions honored in such a way.
“A personal view would be that British racing is, or should be, big enough to organize something along similar lines, which would help to position our racing industry towards the centre of an increasingly international business,” Wood writes.
