Breeders' Cup, one of Thoroughbred racing's most prestigious international events, and Big Ass Fans, the world's leading manufacturer of fans and lighting, today announced a multi-year partnership adding Big Ass Fans as an official corporate partner of the Breeders' Cup World Championships and the name-in-title sponsor of the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.
The Breeders' Cup, consisting of 14 races and more than $30 million in purses and awards, which will be held on November 1-2 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California, annually brings together the world's greatest horses, jockeys and trainers for two days of the best in international Thoroughbred racing before an international audience and televised live in the US by NBC Sports.
As a part of the partnership, Big Ass Fans will provide on-site custom comfort solutions for athletes and attendees alike at Santa Anita, Keeneland (2020) and Del Mar (2021).
The $1 million Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile is a Grade 1 race for 3-year-olds and older horses and run at one mile on the main track. This year, the race will be held on Saturday, November 2, and will be shown live on NBCSN.
“We are delighted to welcome another dynamically innovative global company in Big Ass Fans as a Breeders' Cup Corporate Partner and official race sponsor of the Dirt Mile,” said Chris McNamara, Breeders' Cup Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. “The reputation for quality, dependability and ingenuity of Big Ass Fans' exceptionally engineered products is a perfect complement to the character and international prestige of the World Championships.”
“Big Ass Fans has proudly served the equine industry since our company's inception, so partnering with the Breeders' Cup is a natural fit,” said Lennie Rhoades, Big Ass Fans CEO. “We provide premium quality and world-class comfort for our customers, and we look forward to doing the same for the attendees and participants—both human and equine—at the World Championships.”
