Michael Wrona has officially been let go from his race-calling position at Santa Anita Park, according to a note he posted on Twitter on Saturday. Wrona had been employed at the Great Race Place since 2016, beating out three other announcers for the job.

The Stronach Group's Tim Ritvo confirmed the surprising news to drf.com, and stated that a replacement has already been selected.
“It's just a change in business,” said Ritvo. “We're going in a different direction. He did a fine job. We're appreciative of the job he did.”
According to Rivto, the new track announcer will be “more involved” at the track.
