by | 08.12.2017 | 2:54pm

This PR Special for the first session of the two-night Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-Bred Yearling Sale chronicles the career of Storm Cat, who has had a major influence on the Thoroughbred breed, including in New York where his son Freud is the leading sire. It's part of the “Success Beyond Expectations” series authored by Eclipse Award-winning writer Natalie Voss.

Other features include the “Stallion Spotlight,” with Frank Mitchell taking at look at the first crop of yearlings by Central Banker, standing at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds. Graded stakes winner and 2013 Fasig-Tipton NY-Bred Sale graduate Fourstar Crook is the subject of Chelsea Hackbarth's “Honor Roll” profile.

In the new PR Special feature “Ask Your Veterinarian,” Dr. Bart Barber of Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital advises buyers on when it is appropriate to have your own radiographs taken of a sale yearling, and Frank Mitchell explores  some of the sale's top hips in his “5 to Watch” column.
