The Paulick Report sends out its headlines newsletter every weekday morning at 9 a.m ET (10 a.m. weekends), but the news doesn't stop after you've had your morning coffee.

Each weekday afternoon, the Paulick Report brings you a video News Minute to let you know what's happening around the Thoroughbred racing world: news we think you'll want to know.

Give us 60 seconds – we'll give you the latest news. Today, Preakness winner Exaggerator, a multiple Grade 1-winning son of Curlin, has been retired to stand at WinStar Farm in 2017, and an update on jockey Dennis Collins, paralyzed in a spill in New Mexico last month.

Exaggerator is truly a good looking stallion. Love the way he carries himself, very regally i might add. He seems to be a large horse and i love his dark color. Wishing him a long life and successful career, Linda in Texas.

I agree. And he must have gotten the tail that American Pharoah was missing ;) I loved to see him run just to see that gorgeous tail trail after him.

And thank you Mr. Paulick for the update on Dennis Collins and that he has been transported to Phoenix. We should all send him our well wishes and a card for him to know the spirit of those of us who live for horse racing are with him and ever so appreciative and thankful for him and his fellow jockeys. Praying for you Dennis. Linda in Texas

I don’t get it Ray,why do these horse’s that fans come to love ,follow, bet on have to be retired so soon. Can’t these owners let these horse’s race in their 4 and 5 year seasons.Putting them away from the fans is just wrong. Why is it that these great champion horse’s like Hoppertonity and the Pizza Man and others are with us and others like American pharaoh are taken away so soon …..It’s bad for the game..I hate greed and that’s just what some of these people are greedy..To one of my fovorite’s..EXAGGERATOR have a well deserved rest …sorry we won’t be seeing that late great kick into high gear comming down the stretch in your 4th year were awesome

Many had said say goodbye to Exaggerator for he punched his ticket to Winstar & he’ll never be back. Turned out they were right. Loved Exaggerator taking command of an off track, but you have to admit that those wins defined the horse. He will be missed, especially when it’s raining, but wishing him well at stud.

Take a look at the replays of “Hot Seat”…This 3 year old has the making of something special…I usually don’t get excited about a horse after only two starts but the way he does it and the way he moves shows he means serious business…I love it how he rated today going long for the first time…I think it’s time he tries stakes horses next time out!
