Dan Liebman, a veteran racing writer who spent 15 years at Blood-Horse Publications as director of research, executive editor and the last 2 years as editor in chief of the company's flagship weekly magazine, has been dismissed.

The following email was distributed to members of the company's Lexington, Ky.-based staff by editorial director Eric Mitchell:

“Effective today, Evan Hammonds assumes a new role as executive editor for both the print and digital platforms of The Blood-Horse. As part of the reorganization in editorial, Jackie Duke will expand her duties by joining the editorial department as Special Projects Editor in addition to managing Keeneland magazine and our custom publishing projects.

“Dan Liebman's position has been eliminated. We would like to thank him for his many years of service to The Blood-Horse.”
