In the wake of a tote malfunction that affected some advance-deposit wagering bets on Sunday's ninth race at Hollywood Park and 11th race at Sun Ray, TwinSpires.com said it is going beyond a simple refund of money wagered and issuing a “one-time loyalty bonus” to all players negatively affected (i.e., those whose winning bets were recorded as “completed” but which were not transmitted to the Oregon racing hub because of a totalizator problem with Amtote's equipment and eventually voided).
The tote problem affecting ADW players was exclusively reported by the Paulick Report here yesterday.
TwinSpires issued the following statement on its website Monday night:
“Update 6/28: We have completed our preliminary review of this incident with Amtote. While our terms and conditions clearly state that neither Amtote nor TwinSpires.com is responsible for wagers which do not make it into the host track's pools due to a connection failure, we have decided to issue a one-time loyalty bonus to all players negatively impacted this situation. We will credit all accounts with a loyalty bonus on Tuesday 6/29.”
