Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez, who has been sidelined since suffering injuries in a spill during Breeders' Cup weekend, plans to return to the races on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Gulfstream Park.
According to the Daily Racing Form, Angel Cordero, Velazquez's agent, indicated that the champion rider would have two mounts on the card. One of those will be in the featured G3 Holy Bull Stakes, where Velazquez has been named to ride Coup de Grace for trainer Chad Brown.
Velazquez has been working horses at Palm Meadows recently, and is scheduled to work Coup de Grace today.
