Jockey Jose Valdivia, Jr., trainer Larry Rivelli, and Vince Foglia's Patricia's Hope LLC all repeated their 2016 meet titles at the conclusion of Arlington International Racecourse's 71-day live meet on Saturday.
Breeders' Cup and Belmont Stakes winner Jose Valdivia, Jr. captured his third leading rider title in as many seasons riding full time at Arlington. Valdivia tallied 141 wins as the leading rider, improving on his 100-win mark from last season. Valdivia won the title by a margin of 84 wins over Santo Sanjur, who finished second with 57 wins.
Rivelli captured his fifth leading trainer title at Arlington with a total of 79 wins. Last year Rivelli landed 58 wins when earning his fourth leading trainer title. Rivelli's success set a new Arlington single-season record for training wins, eclipsing Wayne Catalano's mark of 75 set in 2010. Catalano finished second in the standings with 28 wins.
Vince Foglia's Patricia's Hope LLC captured a first leading owner title at any racetrack at Arlington's 2015, repeated in 2016 and earned a third consecutive leading owner title with 48 wins. William Stiritz was this season's runner-up with 24 wins.
